Sorting out Separation

Sorting Out Separation brings together a range of services to give you the information and advice you need to help you through the transition to new family arrangements. Sorting out Separation co-ordinates a range of services including counselling, mediation, seminars and group programs.

Collaborative Practice

Collaborative Practice (CP) is a new and highly effective way of managing separation. With the help of a small team of professionals, you can make arrangements for children and sort out your financial and property matters in a single process without having to go to court

Counselling provides an opportunity to talk with a professionally trained person to identify, understand and gain new perspective on issues you are concerned about.

The Children’s Contact Service offers supervised contact and changeover services for children whose parents have separated. Relationships Australia (NSW) Children’s Contact Services (CCS) are located in Blacktown, Newcastle, Penrith, and Central Coast.

Family dispute resolution

Relationships Australia Mediation Service provides an environment to safely discuss workplace, property or family issues that are unresolved or in dispute. Issues that can be addressed include living arrangements for children, education, improving communication, child support, health care, workplace conflict and a range of other issues.

Family Relationship Centres

There are 65 Family Relationship Centres across Australia. A Family Relationship Centre will support you and your family at any stage of your relationship, by working with you to strengthen your relationship and help you stay together, or assisting you and your family in your separation.

Relationships Australia provides counselling, support and courses to reduce violence and increase safety in families. Our support is available to men, women and children who have experienced violence in their families.

The Parenting Orders Program in the Illawarra aims to help families who have difficulty, or experience conflict, in adhering to child residence and parenting orders made by the court, or as agreed by the parents.

Online counseling is counseling offered via the Internet using real-time chat (like MSN). All counselors are Relationships Australia staff. Our system is designed to provide maximum security and confidentiality. If you live in a rural or remote area, have carer responsibilities or disabilities, live overseas, or simply want the convenience or anonymity of online counseling, this service may be for you.
