It may not provide a magic cure though it will offer structure and support for you in a difficult time. You can attend counselling as an individual, couple, or as a family. Counselling for children is also available. People come to counselling to discuss couple issues, conflicts with friends, relationship breakdown, parenting, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, grief, sexual problems, childhood sexual abuse, stress and work related tensions and disputes.Counselling can support you to generate your own solutions to enhance, adjust, repair and strenghthen relationships. Our goal is to promote relationships that are safe, healthy and resilient.Counselling sessions are totally confidential.
We have an experienced team of counsellors with qualifications and experience in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling. The majority of our counsellors have also undertaken specialist post graduate training in working with different types of couples and families. They are sensitive and knowledgeable as to the special issues for diverse family and couple relaitoinships from varied cultures, social circumstances and family backgrounds.
Their qualifications exceed the approval requirements of the Commonwealth Attorney General’s Department. Professional supervision and on-going training are provided to all counsellors to ensure a high quality of service. Counsellors use a range of counselling approaches, based on what is appropriate for clients and their particular issues.
The fee for counselling per session is based on a sliding scale, according to household income. No referral is required, simply telephone us for an appointment. Day and evening appointments are available at all branches. Waiting times for an appointment vary according to the current level of demand and your availability.
